  • Farewell with Farewell

So I just wrote this great post about ditching Xanga and then Firefox had to crash on me. Curses! I'm ditching Firefox and moving on to Opera now. Anyway.

So here's the link to my new website. Blogger yay! Google apps yay! Anyway, there's really nothing wrong with Xanga except I hate the text editor being in Times New Roman. That's about it. Yea, lame I know but I'm just not fond of the font. Maybe cuz I have to see it in essays all my life.

Okay, goodbye xanga [and consequently Firefox] forever!

  • On KIT and our egocentrism

I wished my friends blogged more. I find blogs a very convenient means to update yourself on someone's life, without calling them or seeing them in person. Of couirse you may say, "But Thoa, then why would you want to read that person's blog anyway cuz you obviously don't care about him/her if you don't want to talk to the person in the first place."

It's not that I don't want to meet face-to-face with the person. Fact of the matter is, we all don't have enough time to catch up on who's dating who, who's doing how in school, who went here, who came back from this, yadda yadda. Update me because I want to know~!

Also, some people find it creepy when you inquire about their lives after such a long time of well... non-communication. For some folks, you can continue where you left off, but for others, it's not quite as easy - especially particularly careful folks who are always wary of others' motives. That's my main reason for never coming back in contact with anyone. I'll always have that thought lurking in my mind of them thinking, "What does she want from me? It's been such a long time. Why didn't she contact me before? Why now? Why ME?" I'll say it right now, because I liked you then, I most likely still like you now, you're an interesting person to talk to, or hang out with, or inspired me in some way, and someone I'd like to have back in my life. Why now? Cuz I probably chanced by an experience or something of the sort that reminded me of you.

With that said, I am a horrible horrible horrible person at keeping in touch. Which basically dispelled everything I just typed up above. SERIOUSLY... man, I am soooooo bad at replying to emails, facebook messages, or anything of the sort. Not because I don't care. It's more like, "Yes, I'll reply to this person's email again! And again. And again. Hmm... what if the person thinks I'm annoying? Oh crap. He/she probably does think I'm annoying! Okay I'll stop." And then I never really get to start again. Or I might tell myself to upload those pictures and then realize I took like 400 pictures so I have to pick out the good ones, and then I pick out good ones and someone calls me, so I never finish and then never start again.

So yes, if I started calling you out of random some time, if I never reply to your email or facebook message, it's not cuz I want something or don't want to see you. People are less malicious than we make them out to be. I think it's based on our own ego-centric view of the world.

Everything bad or good that someone does to me is because of ME. Actually no, it's cuz of them! We may think others are trying to purposely hurt us when it's probably just a misunderstanding, hard situation for that person, or anything else that really doesn't have to do with us. It was really hard realizing the world doesn't revolve around me, but yaknow, oh well.

APRIL FOOL'S~! THE WORLD DOES REVOLVE AROUND ME!

Okay, seriously now, no it doesn't. But Happy April Fool's for the second time!
  • It's like Time Machine... for Gmail!

Oh Google how you amuse me.

I'm a sucker for anything Google and even more so for Gmail because it is my life. Or it darn well should be since it seems to be my homepage now. Therefore, I am always wary of any new "updates" for this spectacular program. Lo and behold, Gmail Custom Time. They really had me fooled there! I bought it for a while before I read the testimonials and realized it seemed a bit kooky and a lot like their other tricks last time. Pigeon Rank is my favorite. I guess I'll be using my Google apps today to see which other tricks they'll pull on me today! Funnn~!

    Anyway, happy April Fool's!

  • On my Future Wedding XD

My final for internet programming is in 2 hours and I'm so not ready. I've yet to master 2 of the most important scripting languages... curse you Javascript and PHP! And I'm procrastinating because I realize there's only so many things you can cram into a brain running on 20 minutes of sleep for the past 24 hours. Not smart.

So in the spirit of procrastination, I browsed through my aunt's beautiful portfolio of wedding pictures. First, they are absolutely beautiful and as professional as you can get. Second, it made me think about my future wedding. It's really sad because instead of the beautiful dresses, cake, happy stuff, I think of: how much all this costs, how much preparation it takes, how much carbon emissions a traditional Western wedding emits, how much waste is left from the reception, how I will break it to my parents that I don't want to marry in a church cuz I'll be lying to God when I say I believe in him... stuff like that. So yes.

Despite this thinking, I'm actually not very pragmatic at all. I just like being frugal & can see money spent elsewhere. Instead of a reception, I have a small dinner with people I actually care about! So I get to actually talk to everyone~! Couple thousands saved. Instead of an engagement ring, I tell my fiance to save it, or invest it. Cuz knowing me, I will lose it in about a month. And I really can't tell if something is real or fake. I like those ring pop things. They taste better anyway. Another thousand saved. Instead of a renting a wedding gown, I ask someone to get a really pretty ao dai made in VN. Instead of a big ceremony in a church where I will have to lie on my wedding day, I somehow convince my parents to do it in our home, or someone's home. Not sure how the Asian wedding thing's going to work though because NO WAY AM I HAVING A ROASTED PIG WITH AN APPLE IN ITS MOUTH ON MY WEDDING! NOOOOO FCKINNNN WAYYYYYYY.

And, I don't have to hire a photog cuz Co Chung got my back, ehh ehh ehh? =D

Instead of wedding presents that I probably won't need, I ask for their presence. Or to donate it in my name or something. Unless they want to do the asian thing and give me money, I'm fine with that too. Instead of a honeymoon, we stay at home and do fun things... like hang out with a bunch of friends. I don't care what age you are, Wii & Taboo will be just as fun! Or venture out into nature. Yosemite has just as beautiful scenery as Hawaii, but I can't say anything since I've been to neither places.

This is of course, if my fiance agrees... but how can you not? I'm saving him thousands of dollars! I've actually thought about this for a pretty long time and this seems to be a pretty tight wedding. HAHAHAH XD ... I am planning it like 10 years away. Anyway, benefits: No excessive planning. No headaches. SAVE MONEY. Save other people time & money.

I feel like Christina from Grey's XD Except hopefully without the fiance walking out on me forever part.

Okay. Time to go back to a lost cause...

I did get an A in my comm 89 honors section, a 40/40 on my paper for comm 122 [worth 40% of grade - so I can get a D on the final and still get an A - WASSUP!] So yes. I'm optimistic. Except for PIC, where I'm going to fail really badly.

Here's a shameless for my aunt's photography. All credits to http://blog.chungnguyen.com/

So beautiful, but alas, don't have to rent out a pretty place. YAHH!

No bridesmaids in matching dresses. I'll just tell them to wear their prettiest green dress! GREEN, YES! I think everyone knows why.

Woww... such a pretty picture. Kind of sucks though cuz everyone will be taller than me.

    Dude, total boy band picture.

So pretty! The bridesmaids remind me of the maid from Beauty and the Beast who was a broom and had that little thing going on with the candle guy. Yaddamean?

  • On Shaving... down there

I took a little study break, went on Soompi and wasted 8 minutes of my life reading the stupidest thread ever... "Why don't Asians shave their no-nos?"

1] why the hell did I even click on that and 2] why the hell did I continue to read it...

But! I learned one thing from that thread... people actually shaved down there =O!! And then I saw lots of comments that said, "I thought everyone shaved down there..." ARE YOU FCKIN KIDDING ME?! Apparently I am totally out of the loop because I was never informed of such requirement when hitting puberty. If one part of your body I would not think to modify, it's your freakin vagina and all associated areas around it. Wouldn't there be like, bacterial infections or whatever that comes with that sort of stuff? I don't want to even imagine the discomfort of waxing... O___O OMG. I am just really disturbed. And feel really stupid for wasting my time on this stuff. Okay. Talked about way more than people need to know... I will now go study how fcked up our society has become because of the media. Come to think of it, I wonder where people got the idea of shaving their cha-chas from... pr0n freaks.
